The first anime I watched was Dragon Ball Z, then bleach, and fullmetal alchemist about the same time I was watching Yu Yu Hakusho.

Ow, Bleach! I guess it was the third anime I saw. Good point, I almost forgot. ;)

Mine was the yu gi oh franchise, then Pokémon (the original). Then I got into mecha with tenga toppa gurren lagann, and I stopped after that. Years later, I would get reintroduced to the genre with your lie in april, which is fantastic, and then rewatching tenga toppa gurren lagann, from a different and more mentally developed perspective. Needless to say, I love anime.

My first anime was 'The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya'. One of my friends had let me borrow a book of his which was the first Novel in the series. I had eventually googled the name and I found out it was an anime and watched all of the first season in that one night. He eventually sold that copy to a book store and I bought it years after and now I have the same book I read in the 4th grade.

Now that I recall Yu-gi-oh must have been my first too. I just don't really know if Yu-gi-oh is considered anime but if it is that's definitely my first one. Anyways I was real big into Yu-gi-oh when I was younger. And pokemon for that matter and went to local card shops to duel all the time. I had a Toon Deck with Blue-eyes Toon Dragon and I would always duel people at our card shop which was called "Underground Games". Was a fun time.

Damn I hating the Toon Deck so much, I never knew how to counter it ahha.

Anyway getting back to OP's question, my first few animes would be Yu-Gi-Oh, Naruto, Digimon and One Piece.

I don't remember my first anime, I know I have seen some of Astro Boy. When I was real young, I watched Dragon Ball. I have possible seen anime that I didn't know was an anime. I have seen DBZ as well but the first anime I recognised as being an anime was Naruto.

If you had to say, what would your favorite anime be? not 2... just 1 ;)

I can't really remember.. guess it was Gundam Wing, Captain Tsubasa, Dragon Ball or even One Piece, but the real answer is among those titles.

Good ol' memories! Evangelion, Trigun, Cowboy bebop are also classics of my era.
